Why brand-specific codes matter
Generic OBD-II codes (P0xxx, C0xxx, etc.) are standardized across all 1996+ vehicles. Manufacturer codes (such as P1xxx or brand-specific body/network codes) carry information only that make can report — like a specific solenoid, fuel pump driver, or module fault. If your scanner shows a brand code, this is where to find what it means.
Don't see your brand yet? Codes are added continuously. Start with generic codes by prefix, diagnose by symptom, or search all codes.
